In addition to our weekly Prayer of the Faithful for the Sunday celebration of the Eucharist, we are pleased to announce that a child-friendly version is now available to help children participate more fully in the Church’s prayer
The feedback gathered during the Year of Prayer, Listening and Discernment revealed a strong and consistent call to include children more fully in the Sunday liturgy. Across parishes, people expressed a desire for children to be active participants in prayer, to hear language they can understand, and to feel that they truly belong within the worshipping community.
In particular, there was frequent reference to involving children in the Prayer of the Faithful as a simple but powerful way of fostering inclusion, participation, and ongoing faith formation. This resource is offered as one small way of nurturing that sense of welcome and participation.
This is one of the resources which are freely available to support liturgy planning including:
We warmly encourage parishes and Families of Parishes to make use of these resources and to share them with those involved in preparing the Sunday liturgy.
