Prayer of the Faithful for the 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

Introduction (by the Presider) My friends, let us make our prayers known to God who rules the earth, who saves the lives of the poor:

  1. That the Church may be a voice for the poor (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
  2. That people without jobs may not lose their dignity (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
  3. That wars may end in Ukraine and Sudan (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
  4. That peace may grow in Gaza and the Middle East (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
  5. That the homeless people on our streets may get shelter (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
  6. That our communities may be places of love and welcome (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.

The Presider prays for all the dead: For the faithful departed (for N and N, and especially all those who have died in traffic accidents, all remembered at masses this Sunday), that the people we have loved may be raised to life on the last day (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider) Lord our God, you rule the world with justice: help us in all our needs, we pray, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
