Palm Sunday
Introduction (by the Presider): As we enter Holy Week and recall the Lord’s Passion, we trust in God who brings life from death and present our prayers for the Church and for all in need.
- For the Church: that Holy Week may lead us to walk more closely with Christ in his Passion and grow in understanding of his love for all people. Lord, hear us.
- For our priests: that as they prepare to renew their promises at the Chrism Mass this week, they may be strengthened by God’s grace and our support. Lord, hear us.
- For those preparing to receive Sacraments at Easter: that they may be ready to receive the new life Christ offers. Lord, hear us.
- For those who have drifted from their faith: that they may be drawn back to Christ and find hope in him. Lord, hear us.
- For the homeless: that those without a home, and all who feel they do not belong, may find shelter, support, and a place of welcome. Lord, hear us.
- For peace: that amid the conflicts and tensions of our time, leaders may work for lasting peace. Lord, hear us.
The Presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N & N): that they may find peace and rest in God’s presence. Lord, hear us.
Conclusion (by the Presider): God of mercy and compassion, you know the needs of your people; listen to our prayers and answer them through Christ, our Lord.
