During his pastorship in Dunmanway, he had a convent and schools built there, and introduced into the parish, the Patrician Brothers, the Christian Brothers, and the Nuns of the Order of St. Vincent de Paul.

His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. O’Callaghan, Bishop of Cork, presided at the Solemn Requiem Mass. The celebrant of the Mass was, Very Rev. Canon Henry Reid, P.P., V.F., Bantry; deacon was, Fr.
