His appointment as curate in Bandon was remarkable in the fact that he was the first catholic priest resident in the town of Bandon from the time of the Reformation.
He was appointed Canon of the newly-established Cathedral Chapter on the 23/2/1858.
He was instrumental in the building of St. Mary’s Church, Kilmurry(1860).
