Honan Chapel nominated for prestigious award

The recently restored Honan Chapel has been shortlisted for the prestigious RIAI (Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland) Public Vote Award 2022.

The nomination recognises the conservation work guided by local conservation architect Peter Muphy (FMP Architects, Rutland Street, Cork).

Dean of the Honan Chapel, Fr Ger Dunne OP, said the chapel as a place of worship is iconic in Cork, Munster and nationally.

“The winner is decided by public vote and it would be a tremendous honour for the chapel and the university if it were to win this competition.”
