Bishop Fintan celebrates Mass for Mercy Day at MUH

Bishop Fintan visited the Mercy University Hospital, Cork, on Wednesday last to celebrate the Mercy Day Mass. 

As part of the celebration this year, Bishop Fintan unveiled and blessed a stained glass window of Venerable Catherine McAuley in the hospital chapel.

Venerable Catherine McAuley founded the Mercy Sisters in 1831. At one point there were 24,000 sisters in the congregation. 

The hospital in Cork was founded on St Patrick’s Day in 1857.
