All invited to join Pope Francis in Friday global prayer for peace in Ukraine

On this Friday 25th March which is also the Feast of the Annunciation, Catholics around the world are invited to join their prayers with those of Pope Francis as he consecrates both Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

This Act of Consecration places the warring countries under the protection of Mary our Mother, trusting in the power of her intercession.  Such an act looks towards God, the source of all peace, and seeks God’s peace through Mary.

Pope Francis will lead worldwide prayer to Our Lady for peace.

People are invited to join Bishop Fintan in-person in the Cathedral of St. Mary and St. Anne, Cork, on Friday afternoon at 4pm as he leads the Diocese in this Act of Consecration.

The liturgy will also be live-streamed on www.corkcathedral.ie

In churches and parishes, people are invited to spend time in prayer on Friday for peace in Ukraine. Some parishes may have a scheduled time of Adoration on that day.

People are also invited to pray the Prayer of Consecration with family or on one’s own if one cannot join a parish or diocesan liturgy. The text of the Prayer of Consecration is available here.
