24th Sunday of Ordinary Time
Introduction (by the Presider): Trusting in God’s mercy and goodness, we bring before him the needs of the Church and of our world.
- For the Church: that she may be a living sign of God’s mercy, bringing reconciliation, healing and hope to all. Lord, hear us.
- For our parish community: that our words and actions may help others to encounter Christ and discover the joy of the Gospel. Lord, hear us.
- For those who feel alone, especially the elderly and those who are grieving: that they may know the care of their community and the comfort of God’s presence. Lord, hear us.
- For those who find it difficult to forgive themselves: that they may come to know the depth of God’s mercy and find the courage to begin again. Lord, hear us.
- For vocations to the diocesan priesthood and religious life: that those whom God is calling may have the courage to respond with faith and generosity. Lord, hear us.
- For our world, especially where there is war, violence and division: that hearts may be changed and paths to peace may be found. Lord, hear us.
The Presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N&N): that the merciful Lord may welcome them into the peace and joy of his presence. Lord, hear us.
Conclusion (by the Presider): Loving Father, hear the prayers we bring you today. Strengthen us in faith and help us to live as your people through Christ our Lord.

- For people who are lonely, sad or missing someone they love: that they may find comfort, friendship and people who care for them. Lord, hear us.
- For anyone who finds it difficult to forgive themselves: that they may remember that God loves and forgives them. Lord, hear us.
- For those God is calling to serve him as priests or religious brothers or sisters: that they may have the courage to say yes to God and follow him. Lord, hear us.
- For peace in our world: that people may learn to forgive one another, choose peace and work for a better world. Lord, hear us.
The Presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N&N): that God may welcome them into the peace and joy of heaven. Lord, hear us.
Conclusion (by the Presider): Loving Father, thank you for listening to our prayers. Help us to trust in you and to care for one another. We make our prayer through Jesus our Lord.
