Prayer of the Faithful for the 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Introduction (by the Presider) We turn to God with all our needs, remembering that the Lord is close to the broken-hearted:

  1. For Pope Leo — that he may lead us with humility (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
  2. For important people — that they may not forget the  poor (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
  3. For victims of injustice — that they may be respected (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
  4. For people who feel powerless — that they may know that God is with them (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
  5. For mission workers — that we may remember to pray for them (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.
  6. For all the sick —  that their faith may comfort them (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.

The Presider prays for the dead: For all who have died (especially N and N); that the crown of righteousness may be theirs (we pray quietly a moment): Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider) Compassionate God, you rescue your people in all their distress, hear the prayers we make in humility and truth, through Christ our Lord.
