Pentecost

Introduction (by the Presider)Rejoicing in the gift of the Holy Spirit who renews and guides the Church, we bring our prayers before God our Father.

  1. For the Church: that, filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit, she may faithfully proclaim the Gospel and bring hope and unity to all people. Lord, hear us.
  2. For the Diocese of Cork and Ross: that as we begin our two-week mission in preparation for the 100th Anniversary of the Eucharistic Procession we may be renewed in faith, hope and love. Lord, hear us.
  3. For those who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation this year: that the Holy Spirit may continue to guide and strengthen them. Lord, hear us.
  4. For vocations: that we will use the many gifts we receive to serve God as priests, deacons, religious, married and single lay people. Lord, hear us.
  5. For the sick and those who care for them: that they may experience the healing and comfort of God’s Spirit. Lord, hear us.
  6. For peace: that the Spirit may soften hearts, inspire forgiveness, and guide all people along the paths of justice and reconciliation. Lord, hear us.

The Presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N & N): that they may experience the eternal peace and joy of God’s kingdom. Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider): God our Father, hear the prayers we offer in the power of the Holy Spirit, through Christ our Lord.
