2nd Sunday of Lent
Introduction (by the Presider): As we recall how the Father revealed his beloved Son on the mountain, we bring before him the needs of the Church and the world.
- For the Church: that she may listen attentively to the voice of the Father and faithfully proclaim Jesus as God’s beloved Son. Lord, hear us.
- For our Diocese: that we may listen more deeply to Jesus and be transformed by his presence. Lord, hear us.
- For civil leaders and all who serve the common good: that God may guide them to act with justice and compassion. Lord, hear us.
- For those discerning God’s call in their lives: that they may trust in God’s faithful guidance. Lord, hear us.
- For migrants, refugees, and those who have left their homeland: that they may find welcome, safety and hope. Lord, hear us.
- For all who are sick, suffering, or in hospital: that they may feel the healing presence of Jesus and the support of their community. Lord, hear us.
The Presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N & N): that they may share fully in the resurrection promised by Christ. Lord, hear us.
Conclusion (by the Presider): Loving Father, you reveal your Son as the light and hope of the world. Hear the prayers we bring before you and strengthen us as we follow him. Through Christ our Lord.
