25th Sunday of Ordinary Time
Introduction (by the Presider): Trusting in the mercy and generosity of God, let us bring before him the needs of the Church and of the world.
- For the Church: that she may be a place of welcome and mercy, calling people at every stage of life to discover the joy of knowing Christ. Lord, hear us.
- For those who feel there is no place for them in the life of the Church: that they may hear the Lord’s invitation and find a welcome among us. Lord, hear us.
- For all who volunteer in our parish: that their gifts may bear fruit in the service of others. Lord, hear us.
- For those who govern: that they may work for justice, peace and the dignity of every person. Lord, hear us.
- For those who are unemployed or seeking work: that they may find new opportunities, encouragement and hope for the future. Lord, hear us.
- For peace in our world: that where there is conflict and division, the way of dialogue, justice and reconciliation may prevail. Lord, hear us.
The Presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N&N): that they may be welcomed into the fullness of life with Christ. Lord, hear us.
Conclusion (by the Presider): Merciful Father, hear the prayers we bring before you. Strengthen us to answer your call with faith. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
