The Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ

Introduction (by the Presider)Gathered around the table of the Lord and nourished by the Body and Blood of Christ, with confidence let us bring our prayers to God.

  1. For the Church: that through the celebration of the Eucharist she may be a sign of unity, peace, and God’s loving presence in the world. Lord, hear us.
  2. For the Diocese of Cork and Ross: that as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Eucharistic Procession we may be renewed in faith, hope and love. Lord, hear us.
  3. For world leaders: that they may work for justice, peace and the dignity of every human person, especially those who suffer. Lord, hear us.
  4. For those who received First Holy Communion this year: that they may grow in faith and love of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Lord, hear us.
  5. For our parish community: that nourished by the Body and Blood of Christ, we may serve one another with generous hearts. Lord, hear us.
  6. For vocations to the diocesan priesthood: that those called by God may respond with courage and generosity to serve his people. Lord, hear us.

The Presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N & N): that they may share forever in the heavenly banquet prepared by Jesus. Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider): Heavenly Father, in the gift of your Son’s Body and Blood you nourish us with the bread of eternal life. Hear the prayers we offer through Christ our Lord.
