Prayer of the Faithful for Sunday 5 July 2026

14th Sunday of Ordinary Time

Introduction (by the Presider): With confidence in God's love and mercy, let us bring our prayers before him.

  1. For the Church: that by its humility and service it may reveal Christ, the gentle King who brings peace to the world. Lord, hear us.
  2. For our parishes and Families of Parishes in the Diocese of Cork and Ross: that the Holy Spirit may help us to grow together in faith, hope and love. Lord, hear us.
  3. For those who lead nations: that they may reject violence and division, and work for justice, peace, and the good of all people. Lord, hear us.
  4. For all who are weary or burdened in any way: that they may find strength and comfort in Christ and in the care of those around them. Lord, hear us.
  5. For our families, especially children and young people: that they may grow in trust, simplicity of heart, and openness to God’s love. Lord, hear us.
  6. For those who care for the sick, the elderly, and the vulnerable: that God may strengthen them in their loving service. Lord, hear us.

The Presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N&N): that they may enter the eternal peace of Christ’s kingdom. Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider): God our Father, hear the prayers we offer in the name of your Son, who brings us peace and rest. Through Christ our Lord.

The Presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N&N): that they may live forever with God in heaven. Lord, hear us.
