18th Sunday of Ordinary Time
Introduction (by the Presider): God never fails to provide for his people. Trusting in his generous love, let us bring our prayers before him.
- For the Church: that she may continue to nourish God's people with the Word of God and the Bread of Life. Lord, hear us.
- For those who suffer from hunger, poverty, or homelessness: that they may receive the food, shelter, and support they need. Lord, hear us.
- For all who work to feed and care for others: especially charities and volunteers that God may bless them in their generous service. Lord, hear us.
- For those who are lonely or feel forgotten: that they may experience Christ’s compassion through the kindness and friendship of others. Lord, hear us.
- For all who are sick in body, mind, or spirit: that the healing love of Christ may strengthen them and give them hope. Lord, hear us.
- For peace in our world: that Christ may soften hearts, end violence, and lead all nations along the path of peace. Lord, hear us.
The Presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N&N): that they may share in the eternal banquet of God’s Kingdom. Lord, hear us.
Conclusion (by the Presider): Heavenly Father, you provide for all our needs with generous love. Hear the prayers we make with confidence through Christ our Lord.
