Notes
He had a great interest in local history and for many years contributed articles on that subject to the diocesan magazine –‘The Fold’. One of his best known publications was: History of West Cork and the Diocese of Ross.
He was the author of ‘Beautiful City’ – one of Cork’s best loved songs.

Among the many anecdotes attaching to the memory of Fr Christy is his reputation of being the last priest in Ballingeary who did sick-calls on horseback.

For an insight into the life and times of Fr. Holland we would recommend: ‘The Fold’ – May 1980 to May 1981.
