He was an authority on church music and a very talented interpreter of classical music, and for many years presided at the organ at the Cathedral. During his appointment at St. Patrick’s Hospital, he was also organist at St. Patrick’s Church, Lower Road, Cork.
He was a cousin of the brothers; Fr. Cornelius Cokley (ret.) and Fr. James J. Coakley, C.C., Ahiohill (1937-1939).

C.C., St. Finbarr’s South; deacon was, Fr. Patrick Fullam, C.C., Church of the Immaculate Conception (The Lough); sub-deacon was, Fr. John Crowley, C.F., Collins Barracks, Cork, and Fr. Declan O’Connor, C.C, Turner’s Cross was master of ceremonies.
