A local committee arranged a series of events to mark this milestone of the faith community in Farnivane. Fr. Bernard Cotter PP concelebrated the Mass with Bishop Fintan while several priests who have served in the parish as well as religious originally from the parish were also present.

While the attendance was restricted due to current government guidance, people gathered in a safe way both inside and outside the church to join in the Mass.

A bicentenary commemorative booklet prepared by Sean Crowley, local historian and Donie Keane, retired school principal, was launched on the day.

St. Martin’s Church has been redecorated in preparation for the bicentenary celebrations through voluntary donations and local fundraising.  A reception took place outdoors to conclude the celebrations.
