Death of Archdeacon Liam O’Driscoll, retired priest of Clogheen Parish

The diocese has announced that Archdeacon Liam O’Driscoll has died. Archdeacon Liam retired from full-time ministry in Clogheen / Kerry Pike Parish earlier this year.

Archdeacon Liam was a native of Aughadown Parish and was ordained in 1967. He served in the parishes of Dunmanway, Crosshaven, The Cathedral Parish, Glanmire and Clogheen/Kerry Pike as well as on the Cork and Ross Peru Mission, as Chaplain to Cork University Hospital and on the staff of Farranferris College.

Archdeacon Liam also served as Diocesan Communications Director as well as Diocesan Designated Liaison Person from 2007-2012 and Deputy Designated Liaison Person from 2012-2019.  He retired from full time ministry in 2021.

He was appointed Archdeacon of the Cathedral Chapter in 2016.

May he now rest in the peace of the Lord.
