Day 2 of Lourdes pilgrimage has moments of healing

The Cork and Ross Autumn Pilgrimage to Lourdes continued on Saturday October 12th.  The day began with Mass and Anointing of the Sick in St. Joseph’s Chapel.  Bishop Fintan Gavin was the Chief Celebrant and the homily was preached by Fr. Damian O’Mahony.

Both Bishop Fintan and Fr. Damian invited pilgrims to receive the Sacrament of Anointing and to be touched by the healing presence of God.

Pilgrims divided into two groups to follow the Stations of the Cross.  Fr. Damian O’Mahony and Bishop Fintan led pilgrims on the ‘High Stations’ while Fr. Michael Keohane and Canon Jim O’Donovan led the ‘Lower Stations’.

In the afternoon, Fr. Charles Kiely introduced pilgrims to different landmarks in Lourdes associated with St. Bernadette.

In the evening Bishop Fintan presided at the Blessed Sacrament Procession in the Underground Basillica.
