Notes
In September 1982, Crosshaven and Carrigaline were created independant parishes. Fr. Paddy was the first parish priest of the newly created parish of Crosshaven.
Fr. Paddy’s most outstanding feature was his love for Our Lady of Lourdes. From the early 1950’s, Fr. Paddy had been a constant visitor to Lourdes and even taught himself French i order to make his apostolate more fruitful. For ten years he gave up his holidays in order to be of service at the Shrine of Lourdes. Several times a year, he led groups of pilgrims from Ireland to Lourdes and, latterly, he took charge of the Pilgrims for a Day who weren’t attached to any pilgriage. He regularly led the prayers in English at the Blessed Sacrament and Candlelight Processions. It was only fitting that in May 1985, he was appointed a Canon of the Shrines of Lourdes.
