He was an uncle of Fr. Timothy O’Sullivan, C.C., Rosscarbery.
At the time of his appointment as Parish Priest of Aughadown, the parish required a church. He travelled to America to raise funds for the project, and as a result he was instrumental for the building of the Church of the Most Holy Rosary at Kilcoe in 1905.

His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Roche, Bishop of Ross, presided at the Solemn Requiem Mass. The celebrant of the Mass was, Fr. David Crowley, C.C., Skibbereen; deacon was Fr. William. Young, C.C., Baltimore Fishery Schools; sub-deacon was, Fr. Edward Lambe, C.C., Union Hall, and the master of ceremonies was, Fr. Patrick Cahalane, C.C., Skibbereen.
