Notes
He was a nephew of Very Rev. Timothy Canon O’Leary, P.P., Glounthaune – with whom he shares a grave in Glounthaune.
It was while in the Cathedral parish that Father O’Leary became widely known and loved. He was actively associated with all confraternities in the parish, particularly the Girls and Youths Confraternities. He was also prominantly identified with the Legion of Mary in the parish. He was the Spiritual Director of the first Men’s Branch in Cork, which was started in the Cathedral Parish in 1934.
Another activity which he took an abiding interest in was the Catholic Boy Scout movement.
