Notes
In 1912, the present beautiful Church of the Nativity of Our Lady in Timoleague was both built and paid for, and stands to the memory of Monsignor Hill. People still recall the splendor of the occasion of the blessing of the new Church. To the dismay, however, of the people of Timoleague, their Pastor was transferred next day to Rosscarbery to replace his uncle as Parish Priest……….
Twice he acted as Vicar Capitular of the Diocese(Ross) – on the death of Most Rev. Dr. Kelly in 1924, and on the death of Most Rev. Dr. Casey, sixteen yars later.
He was a nephew of Very Rev. Peter Hill, P.P., V.F., Rosscarbery(1887-1912).
Appointed Vicar General (V.G.) of the Diocese of Ross in December 1921.
Appointed Papal Prelate with title of Monsignor in 1932 by the late Pope Pius XI.
