On Saturday, June 11th, representatives of the various groups involved in the recent CONNECT Gathering at UCC met to review the event.
The meeting took place at the Presentation Brothers Centre, Mardyke House. The meeting was conducted in a prayerful discerning way, which gave participants time to reflect, share and plan together.
Bishop Fintan thanked the young people for the work that went into organising the wonderful gathering at UCC. He encouraged them to reflect on what God is saying to them through the experience of CONNECT.
The meeting focussed on what the Diocese can do now to support young people of faith in parishes and youth groups.
“We are looking forward now to the next steps on this journey,” according to Sheila Kelleher from Clontead Parish who is also a volunteer on the diocesan pilgrimages to Lourdes.
“Later in the year, we hope to invite more young people to join us and build on our first CONNECT gathering. It was great to meet at the Mardyke House to review the gathering, while the experience is still fresh. There is great energy and hope in this group.”
