He was a step-brother of Dean Timothy (Thady) Cullinane, P.P., Turners Cross (1957-1965).
As chaplain with the British forces he experienced terrifying conditions which left a permanent mark on his health. Although he lived to an advanced age, he was an invalid for many years prior to his death in 1969.

His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Lucey, Bishop of Cork & Ross, presided at the Solemn Requiem Mass. The celebrant of the Mass was, Fr. John J. Murphy, C.C., St. Finbarr’s West (The Lough); deacon was, Fr. Michael Daly, C.C., St. Patrick’s; sub-deacon was, Fr. Charles Fehilly, C.C., Ballymartle, and the master of ceremonies was, Fr. Stephen Harte, C.C., Ballinlough.
