As chaplain with the British forces he experienced terrifying conditions which left a permanent mark on his health. Although he lived to an advanced age, he was an invalid for many years prior to his death in 1969.

Michael Daly, C.C., St. Patrick’s; sub-deacon was, Fr. Charles Fehilly, C.C., Ballymartle, and the master of ceremonies was, Fr. Stephen Harte, C.C., Ballinlough.
