During his time as Parish Priest of Togher he was involved in the translation of the Bible into Irish – his contribution being the The Acts of the Apostles. The publication of this work was launched Cardinal Tomás Ó Fiaich at St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth, on St. Patrick’s Day 1981.
Being a close friend and colleague of An tAthair Tadhg Ó Murchú, he was a trustee of Brú na Graige, an Irish College at Ballyferriter, Co. Kerry.
