New parish priest inducted at St. Joseph’s Mayfield

Bishop Fintan Gavin recently made a pastoral visit to to St. Joseph’s Parish Mayfield, Cork, where he celebrated Mass.

He also formally entrusted the pastoral care of the parish to its new parish priest Fr Criostóir MacDonald who was appointed parish priest recently.

St. Joseph’s Church was built in 1881 as a ‘chapel of ease’ to St. Patrick’s Church on the Lower Glanmire Road and remained part of that parish for 100 years until 1981 when it was erected as a separate parish.
