Death of Canon Michael Crowley, retired priest

The death has occurred of Canon Michael Crowley, retired Parish Priest of Ballinlough Parish, Cork.

A native of Ovens Parish, Canon Michael was ordained a priest of this diocese in 1956.

During his more than 64 years of ministry, Canon Michael served in many parishes of the diocese as well as serving in Plymouth, England, after ordination and serving a term on the Diocesan Mission to Peru from 1967 to 1973.

Among the parishes where he served are Schull, The Cathedral, Ballinlough, Douglas and Blackpool.

He was appointed Parish Priest of Ballinlough in 1999 and retired as PP in 2008 but continued to serve the parish until recently.
