Death of Fr. Vincent Hodnett


The death has taken place of Canon Vincent Hodnett, PP The Lough Parish. Canon Vincent had been ill for some time and passed away peacefully in the Bon Secours Hospital this morning.
Following ordination in 1970, Fr. CanonVincent went on temporary mission to the Diocese of Westminster. He was appointed Curate to Togher parish in 1975, a post he held until 1982 when he was appointed Curate to Bantry parish. In 1988, Fr. Vincent was appointed as Chaplain to Cork University Hospital, a post he held for 8 years when he was appointed Curate to Douglas Parish. After 3 years of ministry in Douglas, he was appointed Parish Priest of Blackpool/The Glen until 2005 when he was appointed Parish Priest of The Lough Parish.
Fr. Vincent’s funeral arrangements are as follows:
Reception into Church of the Immaculate Conception, The Lough at 8pm tonight, Thursday.
Reposing from 4-7pm Friday with prayers at 7pm.
Funeral Mass at 1pm on Saturday with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery
