Bishop Fintan addresses priests using technology

Bishop Fintan Gavin of the Diocese of Cork and Ross addressed the priests of the diocese in an online video conference.

In a first for the diocese, Bishop Fintan Gavin has addressed the priests of the diocese in an online video conference in which he spoke of the ongoing challenges to priests and people presented by the Covid19 crisis.

All meetings of clergy and diocesan meetings are postponed due to the Covid19 crisis. This was the first time the diocese embraced video-conferencing technology as a way of connecting with the priests who are based between Watergrasshill and Goleen.

Bishop Fintan spoke of the importance of priests continuing to spiritually support the people of the diocese while also paying due care to their own health and care.

Many parishes of the diocese have also began to webcast Mass for the first time recently since all weekend and weekday Masses with a congregation have been discontinued until the crisis is over.
